About The Evidence Room

The Evidence Room Front

Our history

The Evidence Room is Bury St Edmunds’s first permanent and independent escape room. Since opening in 2018, we have been challenging teams up and down the country to uncover hidden clues, decipher coded messages and tackle cunning puzzles in our immersive escape rooms.

We first launched with The Gedding Room: a treasure hunt-style game that sees you and your team of detectives hunt for evidence to convict a notorious 1960s mobster.  In 2019, The Aztec Room was launched, imprisoning teams in the temple of a rival Aztec tribe, where you await sacrifice unless you can find a way to escape! And now we have the brand new Future Room, an intense experience of retrofuturism in space. Each of our rooms offer a fully immersive escape game adventure and our team are on hand every step of the way to make sure you and your team have an unforgettable experience.

Our team

Ben

In the world of escape rooms, Evidence Room founder Ben is a ‘long time listener, first time caller’, but you can be sure that the call will be long and rambling, regularly derailed by a tangent or a metaphor that takes it far away from the long forgotten point of the call, a little bit like this bio…

When he’s not out and about tracking down obscure props, he can be found in the pub watching the mighty/feeble (delete according to stage of season) Arsenal.

Marysia (Mish) is the Assistant Manager of The Evidence Room. She enjoys Theatre and studied it in University, so she will happily sing along to any musical songs with you! When she is not at work, Mish looks after her very excitable and adorable (evil) kitten, so if you see scratch marks on her arms that is why!

She likes to read fictional books (but doesn’t read as much as she should) and loves to play video games, board games and escape rooms. Mish is always happy to have a conversation but you might need to tell her to shush, as she can get carried away.

About Emma
Emma

When asked to write her bio, Emma noticed that all her colleagues had mentioned sports teams, and raised the question “can pizza be my sports team?”

In her spare time (when not eating too much pizza) Emma enjoys making improvements to her Animal Crossing island, watching Hamilton on repeat, and attempting to break her personal best Rubik’s Cube time.

Between trying to one-up his colleagues by making up the coolest, most cryptic clues, George spends his time mixing together random ingredients to cook food that hopefully tastes less bitter than the prospect of being sacrificed to the Aztec Gods.

About Emaleigh
Emaleigh

Along with her co-workers, Emaleigh spends some of her free time gaming, whether that be on console or doing the daily Wordle and New York Times crossword. She also has a passion for cooking for others, with her aim to cook one dish from half the countries in the world and share the dishes with her family and friends.

Much like Emma, Casper’s chosen sports team is pizza – though with a side order of Dungeons & Dragons, psychedelic rock, and then some more D&D. When Casper isn’t busy living 50 years in the past, he’s playing guitar (or drums) far too loud for his neighbours, or he’s just down the road at West Suffolk College studying Music and Live Event Production.

Jorja

Jorja can always be found with a smile on her face! Like her co-workers she also enjoys gaming (mostly farming games, she has a fascination with cows). When she isn’t singing along to music or pointing out cows on car drives, she can be found knee deep in her massive book collection that keeps on growing! She also has a mischievous puppy who loves to cuddle, so she’ll usually be found with a few dog hairs on her! 🙂

Franky trained as an actor so loves all things theatre, TV and film. If you want to talk Game of Thrones or Peaky Blinders, she’s your girl! When not watching Netflix, she loves to read or go down the pub with her mates.
Coming from a large family, she spends a lot of time with her four nieces who are always stretching her imagination. She has a pretty decent escape history herself and loves nothing more than watching teams escape with only seconds remaining on the clock!
